A Quizlet alternative, for language vocabulary

Quizlet is for revising any course with sets you make yourself. KoKo has a single job, language vocabulary, with lists already made and a review schedule that runs over nearly seven months. KoKo is our app; this page says where Quizlet does better.

What Quizlet does very well

On Quizlet, you make a set in a few minutes, or find one among those shared by others, on any subject: languages, history, biology, exams. You study it with flashcards, tests or games, on iPhone, on Android or in the browser, and a teacher can share it with a class. Basic use is free, with ads; some study modes need the subscription.

What KoKo does differently

KoKo comes with +6,000 words, already translated and sorted into 38 topics and three levels: no set to look for or to check. The app decides when each word comes back, six times over about seven months, and makes you type the words. It shows no ads, asks for no account and works offline.

Four questions, one honest answer: it is not always KoKo.
